Damn fine way to start the day

Rinsed my dreams away

Cleansed away yesterday

Washed delusions from my eyes

On the lookout for blessings

Both overt and in disguise

Woke up alive today

Each moment a new event

There is no wealth, but life

A holy present

The path may be crooked

Wretched mysteries around each curve

It’s true that I may not have all I want

I’m just thankful . . .

I don’t get all that I deserve
